Blackwater Rising hosts events that bring neighbors together to learn, connect, and cultivate something meaningful. From seasonal workshops to community meetups, these gatherings create space to share knowledge, strengthen relationships, and celebrate the work growing across our community. While our volunteer opportunities focus on hands-on service, our events are designed to spark conversation, learning, and connection.

Blackwater Rising
Blackwater Rising cultivates a resilient community in Cambridge, MD, by expanding access to fresh food, shared resources, and thriving public spaces. Through community gardening and mutual-aid, we strengthen connections and build self-sufficiency.
Members of the Mace's Lane Gardening Club planted some colorful tomatoes in the spring: Great White, David Davidson, Chocolate Cherry, and Oma's Gold.
The kids get back from summer break in a few weeks and will be astounded when they harvest the colorful bounty!
